Ledger revealed a brand new hardware wallet that is roughly the size of a credit card. Ledger Stax features an eink touch screen, which can be customized and provides capacitive touch. French-based manufacturer of crypto hardware wallets is known for making wallets like the Nano. Stax also allows users to protect their crypto assets and non-fungible tokens in a secure element-equipped, EAL 5+ certified setting.

Tony Fadell, an American engineer who was also a former senior vice president at Apple’s iPod division, designed the new machine. Reports state that Apple supported Fadell’s 2001 idea to create an online music store and MP3 player. Fadell was hired in April 2001 to manage the iPod’s special projects and assembly division. Apple’s iPod was not only the most popular product, but it was also the best. Fadell claimed that he has tested many other crypto wallets.

Fadell stated that he was inspired by Ledger’s security technology, having tried all of the hardware wallets, and that he had a lot of fun with it. He sent a press release to Bitcoin.com News. We need a user-friendly…no! Fadell said that the tool was a ‘user-delightful,’ to make digital asset security more accessible to everyone, not just geeks.

According to the press release the Stax battery can last for weeks, or even months with one charge. Stax also offers Qi wireless charging as well as a magnet array that allows for magnetic stacking. The new hardware wallet uses a USB-C connector to connect to a computer as well as Bluetooth technology to allow it to connect with Ledger’s mobile app. Ledger stated that the new interface allows for clear and intuitive interaction. The company also added:

Ledger Stax allows you to manage your NFT collection, plus over 500 coins and other assets right out of the box.

Chief experience officer at Ledger, Ian Rogers, stated that Tony Fadell keeps the billboard and the circuit board in mind when building a product. “With Ledger Stax, we have created a device that is cool, beautiful and fun. The hardware wallet manufacturer claims that Stax will be made available to the public in March 2023. Ledger is currently accepting pre-orders. Ledger claims that the Stax will be available at select retailers such as Best Buy, in addition to being sold online.
